The client: An online learning company teaching coding and maths to school students in India and the United States, with around 250 teachers. Name withheld for confidentiality.
The situation
Teachers loved teaching, but a growing share of their week went to everything around it: writing practice questions for two different curricula, grading assignments with useful feedback, and writing progress updates for parents.
During admissions season the support inbox overflowed with the same questions about timings, fees and levels. And every small change to the course website waited in a queue for the one developer who could make it.

AfterRequested in Slack, prepared by Claude and approved by an engineer the same day
What we built
A curriculum studio in Slack
A teacher asks for “20 questions on fractions for Grade 5, CBSE and Common Core”. Claude drafts them with answer keys and explanations, and the curriculum lead reviews an interactive preview before anything reaches students.
A grading assistant
Assignments are scored against the teacher’s rubric, with specific, encouraging feedback for each student. Teachers stay in control of every grade.
Weekly parent updates
Each weekend, parents receive a short, personal note on attendance, progress and what to practise next — drafted by Claude, approved by the teacher.
A support desk assistant
Common questions about schedules, fees and levels are answered instantly from the company’s own knowledge base; anything unusual goes to a person.
Website changes on request
The content team asks for a change in plain English. Claude makes it and puts it up for an engineer to check before it goes live.
The Claude tools we used — in plain English
Claude Code in Slack
Lets your team ask for work in a normal Slack message — “draft this”, “check that” — and get it back in the same thread.
How we used it here: Where teachers request question sets and the content team requests website changes.
Artifacts
Live, shareable pages — dashboards, previews, checklists — that Claude builds and keeps up to date, so nobody waits for a spreadsheet to be emailed.
How we used it here: Interactive previews of new practice sets, reviewed exactly as students will see them.
Scheduled tasks
Jobs that run by themselves on a timetable — every morning at 8am, every Monday — like a reliable assistant who never forgets.
How we used it here: Drafts weekly parent updates and a Monday summary for each teacher.
Claude Code with GitHub Actions
Lets Claude make small website or app changes on request and put them up for a person to approve before anything goes live.
How we used it here: Prepares website changes and puts them up for an engineer to approve.
Connectors (MCP)
Secure links that let Claude read from and write to the tools you already use — your CRM, email, calendar, file storage — with only the access you allow.
How we used it here: Links Claude to the learning platform, helpdesk and class records.
Claude for Google Workspace
Claude working inside Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets and Calendar, where your team already spends its day.
How we used it here: Sends parent updates and manages teacher calendars and shared curriculum documents.
Claude API
The engine behind the custom applications we build for you: your own branded app, with Claude doing the thinking in the background.
How we used it here: Runs the grading assistant and support desk inside the company’s own platform.
Where it runs
Student records are kept where students live. The grading and support applications run as two deployments — one in India for Indian students and one in the United States for US students — so each student’s data stays in its home region.
The results
- New practice question sets are created about four times faster, with the same review standard.
- Teachers save around five hours a week on grading and parent communication.
- Around 60% of support questions are answered instantly; the rest reach a person faster.
- Course website changes go live in a day instead of up to two weeks.
